There are a
lot of suggestions and recommendations in this book. It might seem like
a lot to take in and many changes to make. But there is a very simple
technique for making change manageable.
You can
transform your life with the principle I am about to outline. It is one
of the key principles in this book.
First, think
about where you want to be in five years time. Then pick just the one
main area of your life that requires the most change in the next five
years. Write it down, but be specific.
Second, write
one specific five year goal for that area.
Third, make a
commitment to yourself and one other person that you will complete just
three small tasks every day to achieve your goal.
Let’s look at
an example. Say the one main area is your career. Say the goal you wrote
down was:
In five years
time I will own my own business. It will earn over $200,000 per year,
and I will love what I do. But I won’t work more than 15 hours a week,
and I will take ten full weeks annual vacation.

by taking just three small actions towards that goal. Some ideas:
1. Order the
most popular book on Amazon written by someone successful in a similar
business.
2. Google
some ideas you have for the business.
3. Find out
about a small business accounting course.
4. Email a
friend for advice.
5. Register a
domain name.
6. Set up one
Social media site for the business.
7. Do a
budget and set up a savings plan.
8. Spend five
minutes writing ideas and diagrams on a standard size piece of paper.
9. Phone a
friend and tell them your ideas.
10. Download
a relevant free audio to your MP3 player and listen to it next time you
exercise.
11. Visit a
similar business and see how they do what they do.
12. Visit a
website of a future competitor. Request their marketing material.
13. Send a
request to a potential mentor in that field.
14. Call your
bank and ask them what you should be doing ahead of time.
15. Set a
goal for the first year of your business.
16. Set a
date for your first sale.
17. Order a
book on marketing.
18. Find ten
websites that sell your planned product or service and write down what
you do and don’t like about the websites.
19. Get a
simple website made utilizing the best features you have seen.
20. Make a
plan for how you are going to move out of what you are doing now.
If you take
three small actions every day, you will achieve faster and higher than
you ever thought possible.
