Gifts And Abilities Part 2

We all want happiness, enjoyment, success and fulfilment in our lives. It is my belief that we each have God given gifts and abilities. We are called to nurture and grow these gifts and abilities in order to live our lives to our full potential. This in turn naturally leads to happiness, joy and success.

We are all made in God’s image, and we all have a part of God’s character and personality in us. If we live that God-given characteristic, we will make the world a better place as well as having an abundant life. If everyone lived their calling, the world would be a beautiful place – heaven on earth.

The important point is that our gifts and abilities guide us towards God’s character in us and God’s calling on our lives. It is an absolutely essential requirement of your life that you find and gravitate towards your God-given gifts and abilities.

Your gifts and abilities tell you about your destiny. It is my conviction that you can never live what you were destined to do on this earth if you don’t follow after your gifts and abilities. God has given you these gifts for a purpose. That is part of the way He made you.

I also firmly believe that every person is on earth for a purpose and no other person on the planet can achieve what God has put you on earth to achieve. This says a number of things to me:

1. If you don’t achieve your destiny, what you are supposed to do on earth won’t get done – by anyone!

2. We need to live our lives helping others to achieve their destiny. By definition this will make the world a better place.

3. It is grossly unacceptable that tens of thousands of people every day are dying of malnutrition and preventable disease. We who are politically and economically able need to do what we can to stop this loss of human destiny.

4. If every life contains the seeds of a destiny only that specific life can achieve, it is a terrible mistake to take the life of an unborn child. Their destiny is activated the moment the spark of life is created at conception.

We were not created to have mediocre lives. God did not put part of His personality in us so we could just get by.

In John 10 v 10 Jesus said “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

If you are not living an abundant life and you are not living life to the full, you are not living the way you were created to live. God’s purpose in creating you was for you to live the life He designed you to live and thereby experience a full and abundant life.

Sadly, individuals who are not living their God given gifts make the world a worse place to live in. If everyone lived the life they were designed by God to live, the world would be a wonderful place with every person’s needs taken care of.
